TO STOP THE EXPORT OF AMERICAN HORSES FOR SUCH A PURPOSE IN/OUT OF OTHER COUNTRIES.
H.R. 503/S. 311 the bill to ban the slaughter of American horses - AND THEIR EXPORT FOR SUCH A PURPOSE IN/OUT OF OTHER COUNTRIES.
*We may all have different opinions on the issue of slaughtering horses in America HOWEVER I think we can all agree on NOT sending Our Horses... American Horses over the border... we can not control what laws have already been passed but we can try and stop our horses from being inhumanely killed by other countries.
While we may not all agree on the bill to ban slaughter in America lets agree on this:
Each person doing what they can to address the issue of unwanted horses. Make a change by educating, responsible breeding or not breeding at all, humane euthanasia, and supporting facilities that rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and slaughter-bound horses.

It's a New Year - 2010 What I am thankful for: I run a 100% non-profit horse rescue and have rescued and placed 131 equines by myself with the loving support of my husband. Over 70 equines this year (2009) have been placed so I am very thankful for the horses lives I have saved. I am thankful for my hardworking husband who gives me the opportunity to rescue and care for unwanted horses, to stay home with my daughter, and who is a very loving and supportive man. I am thankful for my healthy, fun and busy four year old daughter. I am thankful for the numerous wonderful people I have met over our nation that have adopted horses from me. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to write this and having a warm home to do it from & hot coffee to keep me going when I feel so tired from taking care of a rambunctious four year old and 24 horses! I feel thankful for the freedom I have been given in my country to be able to wake up each morning and do what I do, say how I feel, and have what I have. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to do what I love. That I can spend each day with horses and my four year old daughter at home. Most of all I feel thankful to be healthy, happily married, with a healthy and happy child, and surrounded by God's majestic creatures.
