First Shadow's owner died and he was left to starve almost to death. He was rescued but could not put weight on... his teeth were so bad he could not eat even if he tried. He had his teeth floated.
We will have after pictures coming soon!

Meet Queenie & Thunder...
These 2 horses were finally surrendered over to a Sheriff's department in Iowa after very long efforts by Blue Ridge pushing to save them... we got these two rescued however 3 others died; a full term expecting mare with a 3 month old nursing foal and a yearling colt. These two are alive, fed, and warm now at Blue Ridge. We drove 2 hours to save these horses from dying of starvation and dehydration. They had no food and no water anywhere on the property. They were in a small lot standing in 5 foot snow drifts on top of a fallen down barn! See their photos below.

Before & After

A dog tied to a tree for over a year on a chain only a foot long and a busted out camper shell with no windows for shelter. He had no food or water and was stepping in glass. He was thin and "bones" with a wire wrapped in his tail... BUT now look below - Cydnee and I have been taking pictures of him together so there are a lot of them... what can we say "We Love Our Dog!"

Blue Ridge has a new member to the family.
I have noticed this Border Collie tied to a tree at a farm for over a year. Two days ago I saw him again and saw he had dropped a lot of weight. I pulled over jumped out ran over to him and grabbed his sides to see if it was just me (he has super long hair) and sure enough... all bones. No food to be found. So I went to the lady and said "Hey you want to get rid of your dog?" After a very long pause she said, "If you want him take him".
I thought to myself "Oh man,.... how the heck am I going to get this wired energetic dog home... He will tear up the seats or cause a wreck jumping around. WELL... in the back was a horse halter (imagine that!) so I managed to tie him to the hatch back. He fought for about 30 seconds and then laid down. WELL... he's been that way since - quiet, appreciative, and sweet. Molly (our Shorthair) hates other dogs and she ran to him barked and started running around making him chase her. It was love at first site... now they lay together and play together. He has been the best dog anyone could ever ask for. He also had a 6 inch long fence wire grown into his tail that we had to cut out.
So... "Bones" is a keeper.
I never planned to go down that road... but fate took us to Bones. I never planned to leave the house that day but my gut kept saying go see someone that lives that way. So for no reason we went and when I saw him I knew exactly why I was suppose to go.
Had we not gone there and I ask to have him he would had died shortly after tied to a tree.
In only one hour we have him; sitting, healing, staying, laying down, coming, playing fetch, and his herding instincts are incredible. He loves dogs, cats, kids, and toys. He ate 4 large bowls of dog food when he arrived and his body is still trying to get use to "dog food". They were feeding him scraps - no dog food.
So here is "Bones" our new family member....
