Our Mascot's Story...

A Crippled Miniature Horse destined to be put down because her breeder did not have the resources to help her. Then Blue Ridge Rescue stepped in and changed that destiny to live. Bunny (because she would hop around like a rabbit) was born crippled and with the help of a volunteer, a local prosthetic company and a University vet hospital Bunny will live on with a much brighter future. Bunny is now a permanent sanctuary rescue therefore we are always accepting donations to help with her daily care and continued care.

The inspiration Bunny gives is to never give up hope, and to never turn our head when a living creature is different or suffering. All living creatures, even animals are an individual and feel pain and emotion. We have to recognize that as humans those helpless creatures rely on us to help them.
